As part of maintaining Char-Broil's quality standards, ongoing tests and evaluations are performed on our products. Recent testing of the Gas Patio Bistro® Grill Models has determined that in some cases the following sequence of events may occur:

  • The burner for the subject grill is ignited by turning the control knob to the "Ignition" Position.
  • Once the burner is ignited, the consumer turns the control knob to a desired setting.
  • If during operation the burner flame extinguishes unintentionally, the consumer may then turn the control knob to the "OFF" position.
  • When the control knob passes back through the "Ignition" position, the integrated electronic iginition may activate.
  • The propane that has accumulated in the grill then ignites.

Char-Broil will address the matter of corrective actions for units currently in possession of end user consumers in cooperation with CPSC, and will provide details to you as soon as they are available. In the meantime, should you have any questions, you may call 1 (800) 241-7544 between 8:30 am and 5:00 pm Eastern Daylight Savings Time, Monday through Friday.
