I use these skates to skate around my neighborhood (blacktop pavement). The overall fit is great for my feet but the skate is a little tight around my ankle. That is the only problem! This is a great skate for recreational skaters!

Comments about K2 K2 Athena Recreational In-Line Skate Women:

The wheels, 3 of them worn down and split within 6 months of owning these. Beware, they are not a safe skate, especially if you are beginner, which I am not. Used these primarily outdoors on a bike path so the wear shouldn't have been that bad. I had a cheaper brand with an 80mm wheel that never split in the 3 years I had those. 78mm are very hard to find and I had to order a replacement online. I had to hobble home with my left skate while 2 of my wheels, one which broke off completely, were useless. I thought this was a great skate when I bought it but now I wouldn't recommend it to anyone unless you have 8 decent 80 mm wheels ready in case!

they are good dependable skates and K2 is a very good quality brand that makes comfortable and stylish skates. The only con is that i skate in my drive way alot and you can see a streak of white plasic so the wheels get warn easily. i would recomend getting a pair of replacement wheels with your purchase. But the ankle support is GREAT! They are great for rec skating!!!

I just got these skates [...] and put them on and off I went. They are perfect for me. They roll smoothly over the streets and no problem with twigs or small stones. I can't wait to come home from work to start my regiment for working out. I'm 55 years young and I feel very comfortable in them and steady also. I've been working out for over 25 years of my life and now I'm taking on rollerblading. Go and get these skates ladies and start getting fit.

Comments about K2 K2 Athena Recreational In-Line Skate Women:

Best rollerblades I ever had. I rollerblade at least 16 miles a week on the river bed (mostly asphalt road) for cardio exercise. My average speed is about 10mph and top speed at about 20 mph. These blades aren't the best commuter blades but they work okay for me. The original wheels wear out quickly, but the original wheels are not meant for asphalt. So I upgraded my bearings to BSB ABEC 9 bearings (originally ABEC 5 bearings) and wheels to Hyper Dubbs Performance Wheels 80mm 82a (originally 78mm 80A) and now I blade faster with little effort [$]. The shock absorption over rough terrain could be better. Maneuvering in tight turns is good too.If you're like me and rollerblade for exercise, long distance and speed, I would recommend spending the extra money and buy the K2 Celena or K2 Alexis instead. Besides that, these rollerblades are awesome. [$]they are worth every penny. I would recommend these blades to any recreational rollerblader.

These are the nicest most comfortable skates I have ever had. I've been rollerbladding since I was a little kid, and these are by far the best blades I've had. I would recommend them to everyone and anyone. Three of my best friends have already purchased them and we rollerblade four nights a week.

Most comfortable, lightweight skate
By Carol from San Antonio, TX on 11/18/2007

Comfortable Fit, Fast, Lightweight, Stylish Design, Supports Ankle
Cons:
Finding a brake

All Terrain, Indoor Roller Rink, Rough Road Surfaces

Recreational Skater
Bottom Line:

Comments about K2 K2 Athena Recreational In-Line Skate Women:

I have been skating for about 3 years now. I'm at an intermediate level. These are the most comfortable skates I have ever worn. I could tell a diffrence the first time I used them. They are great for smooth surfaces. They absorb uneven road surfaces well. They last longer if you learn how to take care of them, like cleaning and rotating the wheels. This is one of the slower K2 skates, but for my level and what I use them for, they are definetly fast enough. The brake also last longer than what my experience has been on my last skates. The only problem I'm encountering is finding a replacement brake. So far [...]is the only place I've found it. When choosing skates think about what level your at and what type of skate best fits you. The bigger the wheel size the faster you go. The higher the # on a bearing, the faster you go. Faster is not always the best, if that's not what level your at. Overall I couldn't be happier I choose these skates.

I am 28 and haven't rollerbladed since middle school! I really enjoy myself! These are the 'blades I picked to reintroduce myself to the sport and I am really happy with the boot, but the wheels are only about 4 months old and they are severely worn. I called [...] because no matter how fast I moved my legs, people were zooming by me, barely breaking a sweat! [...] said that I needed better bearings, so I am going to try that this week. Just a suggestion!

Very Comfy but no support

Comments about K2 K2 Athena Recreational In-Line Skate Women:

This skate feels well but when used it bends way too much and has no support. You can also see where it bends because it has 2 one inch circles on the grey part of the skate which allows it to bend. In fact it bends to the point where it creases in the center top of the foot near the laces and because of this lack of support it is hard to increase speed. So if you are using this where you have curbs or pebbles or generally anything to avoid, this skate would suck because of the slow slow pace.

Also leaves sweat marks all aver the upper foot area,,,which are visible, gross and embarrassing. After all this is done, sweat stains dont come out at all and make the pretty skate loose its originally quality, which was why i bought it to begin with.

This is probably good for kids only, or beginners

I just bought these a few days ago and I really like them. I only roller blade for exercise, about 5 miles a day around a suburban neighborhood. They suite the purpose. I'm not an experienced skater (can't do tricks) but I think they are great and they are also stylish

These are the most comfortable blades I've owned. For the girlie girl, the pink is perfect! The pictures don't do them any justice. Trust me, they look much better in person and feel better than they look. And the best part is that buying them helps support breast cancer research.
