Better than a midland

Comments about Cobra HH 38 WX ST CB Radio With A Magnetic Mount Antenna:

I use this item for emergencies when I drive my car to visit my friends in the mountains. The mobile phones don't work out there but CB radio will because the signal is a parabola shape not a straight line like those cheap gmrs and frs signals that are falsely advertised. I like that it can reach a good distance of 2-4 mile depending on the given situations. on other situation the people on the Ham Radio can still pick up my signal even if I can talk to them. The think I don't like about it is the 4 mile feature. They should have these things work farther distances but, that is alright it is better than what you can get out of a walkie talkie. It is better quality than the midlands that are made out of cheap plastics and fall apart. Also I don't have to worry of the hassle of extra parts to look after. Also all the connections are solid compared to the midlands which rely on a spring loaded connection that can fail to connect properly. The CB radio also useful for calling police or emergency units on channel 9 and 19. This knowledge allows me to get help faster. The walkie talkies have too many channels and codes it's impossible to reach someone. Also the GMRS and FRS signals are repeaters. Another benefit is I don't need to pay be licensed to have a CB radio.
