I use this on top of a larger mat in my home gym. This is a fairly small surface area, but it gets the job done. I do not like to work out on concrete, and was looking for a bit more padding. The mat, when connected, does not grip well to the floor, so I have to put weights on the corners to prevent it from moving while working out on it.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
