This unit is NOT hard to setup if you take your time and read the directions. I suggest reading the directions front cover to back first, organize the main parts, and then move forward with assembling the unit. All of the parts are separated by the instruction steps in individual bags. It took me and my 10 year old son about 2 hours to put it together.

It's a nice system for home use and it serves its purpose well (practice and small pickup games). I strongly suggest filling the base with sand not water. It takes 8 to 9 bags of sand which I purchased at Home Depot. The system will play a lot better (more solid) with a sand base.

If you take your time assembling the system correctly, and don't abuse the system (i.e. hang on the rim etc.), it should/will last. For the money it's a good system and it will service its purpose. Also nice to note it was made in the USA.

We replaced a higher quality setup that we got second hand that doesn't adjust for height. disappointed the backboard is so thin and there is so much movement in the backboard when a ball contacts it. it just needs more stability somehow. otherwise, it is set up in our shop so i assume there shouldn't be any weathering concerns. just wish it was more sturdy for my son who hopes to dunk it in a couple of years. it is easy to lower for my 3rd son.

The base cracked and leaked water within 2 weeks (didn't move the hoop) The outer rim of the backboard filled with water during raining season in FL. The top bracket srews on the backboard ripped out since only in plastic base. This hoop is not made for sunny and hot Florida. The plastic of the base and the backboard will deteriorate quickly. Don't waste your money.

Less than 2 hours from box to playing. It's worth what you spend. Even the more expensive ones are similar until you get up around a grand or more.direction are easy to follow and parts bags are put together by steps. Just make sure you read everything twice. I put two parts on backwards, but only took 2 minutes to change.

The advertised width of the backboard is 50 inches. The actual acrylic backboard is 43 inches; with the frame it's 46 1/2 inches. Only the thin bottom frame comes close at 49 1/4 inches. I brought this to the attention of Lifetime, and they weren't concerned. I won't buy any of their products again.

After reading the reviews I was a little nervous about buying this system. I went ahead with the purchase and I'm glad I did! I found the instructions easy to follow, my son and I put it together and were "Ballin" in 2 hours. We filled the base with water and base gel. The gel worked great and will keep the water from freezing. My son just loves the hoop, plays every night. We use it for practice and pickup games. My son enjoys the easy adjustment so he can go from practicing shots to a lower level for dunking quickly. We live in an area that can get very windy and so far we have not had any trouble with it wanting to tip over in high wind. For the money I think you can't go wrong. Best of all it is made in America!!

The flimsy base on this thing broke open as soon as I had filled the unit after assembly. I literally move the unit less than a foot after filling it and water started leaking out. Very poor quality. If it wasn't such a pain to take apart, I would return this unit.

Rolled out to the street on the first day and the flimsy base cracked and I got a hole in the base. When I called to have someone look at it from the extended warranty I purchased, they said they would have someone come out to meet with me. 6 months later I called back and they finally sent an adjuster out. I got a call a few days later and they told me my claim was rejected. They said that I need to read directions and use the wheels, do not drag the base. I thought this was very degrading (Like I do not know to use the wheels?) and they basically called me an "idiot". I was totally taken advantage of and I will never buy and/or recommend a lifetime product. Warranty? What a Joke. STAY AWAY FROM THIS BRAND!!!!!
