Comments about SAVASA Blackburn Mountain Air III Hand Pump:

First, note that this is for MOUNTAIN bikes. Mountain bikes take more air, but at lower pressure. I'm a strong guy and can only pump this to about 60 psi, which is the lower limit for my hybrid, and probably very low for a road bike.

Second, although it worked okay for a month, suddenly it wouldn't clamp onto the valves. Or rather, it clamped, but I couldn't pump. (I resorted to my car's tire pump.) It was as if the cap were still on, or the tires already full (they weren't). Then, a week or two later, it worked again. But one of the tires then sprung a leak, at the base of the valve stem (where it meets the tube). The (reputable, major) bike shop said it wasn't a tube defect, I probably put a lot of stress on it. True or not, I can see it makes sense. If you top up your tires every couple days with this thing clamped on, and move it a lot as you pump, that's got to be harder on the stem than if you used a floor pump with a hose.

Which is why I consider this for mountain and/or occasional emergency/field use only. I'm marking down the bike shop AND Blackburn a "star" (in my mind) for not making that clear when I bought it.
