Comments about Diamondback AVENIR Excursion Insulated Bicycle Rack Bag:

I have been using this trunk for over a year. I commute over 2,000 miles a year and do long rides many other days each week and my tunks usually last me about 3 years. This is probably my favorite one so far. I did have to sew one of the straps back on as I pulled it a little hard while attaching it to my rack. I have 2 commuters one with a seat post rack (full suspension MTB with studded tires for winter commuting) and one with a heavy duty rack (road bike for summer commuting and road trips) for my panniers. The bag fits well on both but better on the road bike rack. The bag is stable for road use but gets a little sloppy when the top is expanded and filled with heavy items. Make sure to use a front strap. I have had to add one to some but this one had one. I have looked at everything I could find and this is one of the better at this price point. I don't see any reason to spend more unless you really want one of those track systems. I wouldn't use any trunk for trail riding-roots rocks and such are way too rough to use a trunk. I think a backpack works better for rough trail riding. This is large enough to hold my iPad, large lunch, light coat and extra heavy gloves.
