On the box it reads that it is designed for baseball, softball, tennis balls, and small wiffle balls. The cup that holds the balls is so small it only can hold the small wiffle ball. The rubber neck/cup is too long. It cannot support the weight of the ball. It barely held a tennis ball. I took it back the next day. I ended up purchasing the next model up that holds baseballs. I did like the tri-pod base and the portability. I wish it came with a travel bag.
I bought this t stand to replace an older version that was beaten up and finally broke. The new version uses cheap plastic parts and the rubber neck is not as sturdy. It can barely hold up a baseball. If I had kept the packaging I would have retuned.
Easy to pack, carry, and use. Rubber support for ball doesn't hold the baseball in place well because it's too long, it bends under the weight of the ball, and it's not wide enough at the top to hold the ball in place. Although the rubber is pliable and bends, it bends too much causing the ball to fall off the tee. I cut the length of the rubber and that helped. Maybe a stiffer, and shorter rubber would work better.
I bought this for my 8 year old for reptition purposes before the season starts. First off, the majority of this thing is metal, which means I don't have to worry about it getting stepped on or crushed by an equipment bag. The seat for the ball was a flexible, but durable rubber that seems like it is going to take a good amount of abuse. It is really compact and will easily fit into either the equipment bag or even in his bat bag. The only con was that the practice balls are basically golf balls. The picture makes them look more like standard whiffle balls, but that was not the case. Other than that, I was very pleased. Between him and I, we've probably hit 200+ balls off of it and it shows no signs of wear. This is a great value for the money.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
