Getting the reel was exciting, I was disappointed that with a reel, at this value there wasn't an extra spool. Overall the device was solid. Granted I only caught 1 fish with it during my stay in Oklahoma. The casting was smooth. I used braided line by powerpro and the lines seem to tangle a lot when I'm jigging; that's the only downer. The combo of this reel and my Shimano Clarus is fantastic!
To all that are looking to buy this real...dont bother. sorry to say I had a lemon. I purchased the gold version of the real for the sole purpose of it looking good on my carrot stick. Also the price was appealing as well. Trust me when I say I should of did my homework. The most frustrating problem was it felt as if the gears inside slip. While realing in line the handle would spin however the spool wouldnt turn. Adjusting drag wouldnt help at all, as a matter of fact if you turned it all the way up the gears would bind. so save your money and dont waste a good day of fishing like me
This reel was nice the first day I used it. The next day when I caught a fish, I noticed the drag didn't work. Also after the first fish I started to hear a strange grinding sound when I reeled in the line. I don't know what it is but I've returned it so I'll never know. Another thing about this reel is the heavy retrieval. I don't like it but that could just be me. I may have just bought one that didn't work well, but I can't find any reviews on it, so watch out when buying this reel.
