1) longer use life (total rider weight of 100# in trailer vs seat maybe 40#?)
2) Cars give me Way more clearence with pulling a trailer
3) if I fall, the trailer dosn't tip.
4) he has room in the trailer for his toys and stuff. if he drops his sippy cup it's not lost in the street!
I love this trailer. It is 10 pounds heavier than the one I just returned (another store) but it is Way sturdier and I feel my son is safer in this one. I also flip the handle bar for the "stroller" above his head and reverse the flag slot (so it's still upwards) to give him added protection in case of an unfortunate collision.
I like that it adjusts to have a single rider ride in the middle or 2 children side/side.
Hills are tough for me b/c the trailer weighs about 22# plus my son is 32# but we do just fine on our 1 mile ride to his preschool twice weekly.
I've only used the product a couple of times but I am a fan. It was relatively easy to put together. Appears to be well constructed and has been a smooth ride on paved roads. I am not an avid rider or extreme rider so I can't comment if it would hold up for that type of situation but for an everyday family ride, I would recommend this for the price point.
My 7 month old daughter and I have thoroughly enjoyed biking with our Encore trailer ~ both for joy riding on the trail and for errand running around town. She seems very comfortable and it totes pretty easily for me. I felt that the directions for putting it together were somewhat confusing and unclear, but now that it's together, I have no complaints!
