Comments about Merrell Men's Moab Ventilator Mid Trail Shoes:

While wearing these for the first time one of the eyelets on both pairs broke. Was on a simple 15 mile backpacking trip and the issue occurred in the first few miles.

Perhaps too comfortable?

By BB

from Mesa, AZ

Comments about Merrell Men's Moab Ventilator Mid Trail Shoes:

These boots have a high quality material for the sole, however a little on the thin side. In fact that is the major shortcoming, true hiking boots should have a stiff sole to help support your feet for serious hiking. These seemed stiff in the store, but quickly broke down to feel like fashion tennis shoes. They are cut narrow in the heel, which is actually great, they do provide good heel and ankle support. The arch felt supportive in the store due to the narrow heal section, but quickly started to flex and loose support. If you have healthy feet that do not require support, they are a good deal. If you do serious hiking or have any issues like plantar, you will have to spend more money to get the boot you need.

Purchased a Second Time

By Bob

from Colorado Springs, CO

Verified Buyer

Comments about Merrell Men's Moab Ventilator Mid Trail Shoes:

We do weekly (or more) hikes during the spring, summer, and fall in Colorado. I had purchased the exact same hiking shoe before. Buying it again means something in itself. It breathes fairly well and provides the support I need and the treads help in keeping secure footing during hikes/walks. The shoe is well-made and nothing has come loose, fallen off, nor has any stitching come out. For me, they have become as comfortable as tennis shoes (yes heavier), but they offer so much support...and have no issues when wearing the all day long (before, during, and after a hike).

Exactly what I was looking for. Remind me of some hiking boots I bought in Colorado long ago but were discontinued (Kangaroos).

I use these for work. Mid height helps to keep stuff out of the shoe. I wear them all day without fatigue. I'd recommend.

light weight alternative to the boot shoe

By Mike

from Seattle, wa

Verified Buyer

Comments about Merrell Men's Moab Ventilator Mid Trail Shoes:

This is a lighter weight version of this type of boot/shoe. Worn for heavy duty labor so prone to rip or tear more often than would like because of higher price.

  • Feels full size too small
