Comments about Trend Sports Xtender 30 Home Batting Cage:
I purchased this for my 7 year old son, so he could practice batting in our backyard. When we received it we were very excited to put it up, but once we took it out of the box we could see how poorly designed the unit was. The fiberglass rods are about 3 feet long and you need to assemble them in order and then tape them with the three rolls of electric tape that are included. One of of the rods had a factory defect and I had to make alterations to get it to go together. Putting it together took hours, although I only had help putting the net up. You need to be very carefull you don't damage the frame as you put the net over the fiberglass supports. After the cage was complete it looked pretty good and was fun for a day or so. Then, the next evening we got rain with very little wind and the frame buckled. I added two more support ropes to try to prevent it from happening again, but the next morning it happened again. They say you are supposed to take it down during windy storms, but it is too much work to take it down every time it sprinkles a little. I returned it two days later and purchased a quality net that I am making my own pvc frame for. Don't waste your money on this item.
