The Allen® premium 4-bike carrier mounts quickly and easily to your trailer hitch. The arms "snap" into place right out of the box, and Allen's® patented cradle system uses snug tie-downs to hold up to 3 bicycles. The carry arms fold down, and the entire rack tilts to allow access to the lift gate. The powder-coated rack installs in just minutes with a no-wobble bolt, and an integrated locking loop secures your bikes.

Comments about Allen Sports Allen Premium 4-Bike Hitch Mount Bike Carrier:
This seems like a very nice design. I've used it only once, but it was easy to assemble and mount the bikes on it. It also swung nicely to allow access to the back hatch. Instead of a pin to hold the rack into the receiver, this design used a shoulder bolt. This has the advantage of steadying the rack, because it doesn't allow the rack to wobble in the receiver, but it is way more inconvenient. You need two wrenches to remove or install. The mechanism that allows the rack to fold down to allow rear access is very clever, but because the holes that accommodate the locking pin don't quite line up correctly, it requires some force to insert the pin. So, you need another tool or tools to insert the pin. I am going to try drilling out the hole so that the pin slides in more easily, but this is going to defeat the anti-corrosion coating. So, in conclusion, good design, so-so execution. Overall, satisfactory to good result.
