The Allen® deluxe 5-bike carrier mounts easily, quickly, and firmly to your car or truck's trailer hitch. Allen's® patented cradle system uses snug tie-downs to secure up to 4 bicycles. When not in use, the carry arms fold down, and the entire rack tilts to allow access to the lift gate. The powder-coated rack installs in just minutes with a no-wobble bolt that eliminates dangerous movement within the hitch. Easy assembly required.

We used this rack on a 4 hour vacation ride, never heard a sound from the rack, no vibration. It was installed on a Toyota minivan and the tilt feature was great. Very easy to install and remove (which we've done about 4 times so far and used it with 4 bikes so far - a man's and woman's bike and 2 children's bikes.) Highly recommend, especially for the price!

It was very easy to assemble. The "no-wobble bolt" was effective at eliminating movement in the hitch. The tie-downs are nice and flexible enough to work on different shapes and sizes of bikes.

Before buying, I borrowed two other racks; a trunk mount and a hitch mount. The trunk mount is not designed for a Suburban. The top straps held the weight, bad idea. The hitch mount was much better. Was glad to be able to test out different sytles before buying.
The Allen hitch is strong, uses old english sized bolts and was easy to assemble. I compared it to the Thule 4 bike hitch mount I borrowed and it's design is not the same, nor as good, but the price is $150 less. The rack does bounce around a little when loaded with 2 adult bikes (heavy steel mountain bikes, with storage racks and baby carrier) and two 20" bikes. The movement comes from the bolt connections in the upright bar and pivot elbows. I will look into tightening these connections. The no wobble bolt does hold the rack tight at that point. There is no ratteling which is nice. The mounts do twist making it possible to hold funky frames; girls 20" and a trailer bike. It will hold large tubed frames. The mounts do not slide up and down the support bars. Weight limit is listed at 150 lbs and my load is probably around 125 or so.
