The Allen® deluxe 4-bike carrier mounts easily, quickly, and firmly to your car or truck's trailer hitch. Allen's® patented cradle system uses snug tie-downs to secure up to 4 bicycles. When not in use, the carry arms fold down, and the entire rack tilts to allow access to the lift gate. The powder-coated rack installs in just minutes with a no-wobble bolt that eliminates dangerous movement within the hitch. Easy assembly required.

Comments about Allen Sports Allen Deluxe 4-Bike Hitch Mount Bike Carrier:
Very easy to put together and fits into the 2" receiver on my truck with no problem. No issues like another reviewer had with needing to do any kind of drilling. Fit like a charm and will be perfect for our short trips and summer vacations.
Also agree with another user that the patented straps are nothing special but they do seem to do the job.

I knew I should have refused it when it showed up in a box the size of a large Pizza Box. The shaft is two piece (cheap), rather than one solid piece. If you plan on using a Receiver Lock to secure the rack, you are going to need a drill press and a 5/8 inch high speed bit or take it to a machine shop. The idiot who designed the reciever provides a 1/2 inch hole when all 2 inch hitch recievers have a 5/8 inch hole. Don't waist your time or money, spend a little more and get a solid shaft (they come with a 5/8 inch reciever hole).

Pro: I purchased a 2" receiver bike carrier for a new recumbent bike. It worked very well on a 1 ¼ receiver on a small SUV with an adaptor. Without the adaptor on the larger SUV with a 2" trailer receiver the carrier was a little closer than I would have liked. The recumbent must be carried sideways due to the configuration. I was able to get a recumbent and 2 mountain bikes on the small SUV and only the recumbent and one mountain on the larger. Con: The "patented" holders are just straps. Nothing fancy, but does get the job done.
