Frabil makes a great one man shelter. After using many blue shelters, if have decided that the black is the only way to go. I mentioned site fishing, this is when you actually look down the hole at your lure. You watch the fish come up and hit lures, typically done in under 10' foot of water. The black material is good in two ways for this, when its dark inside it allows you to see down the hole 10X better than if light is comming in your shelter. Secondly, when its dark inside the fish cant see you up the hole, and yes when its light inside they can and will see you in many cases. Blue material isnt good for this, it lets to much light in even with windows closed. Also thermal covers are now being offered on other units, but for price, to me its not nesscary. Your talking about a 10 sqft area, with any tiny heater it warms quick and stays warm. I fished in this last weekend at zero degrees with 20 mph winds and was very comfortable (other than feet).

Size is good on this unit, however i do wish they would widen this unit by about 5 inches. I wont go up to next size because thats just to big. I walk out alot so i like to remain as light as possiable and this unit is it.

I did mention seat in the cons. The seat for me is to high and im 5'11" so for anyone smaller it would also be to high. Its a nice seat but really needs to be lowered for correct seating about 4". I didnt end up installing seat, i typically dont. I use a cooler to sit on with a foam pad. This way I have dry storage and its lighter and more versitle than then bench seat included.

After dragging the bottoms off most of my old sleds it is crutial to apply the runner kit (hyfax kit), also invest in the cover especially if you tow your sled behind anything, if not you we learn that your sled fills with snow and slush comming off wheels and/or tracks. It only takes once to learn that all your gear coved in 10" of slush makes for a miserable day.

Great unit, especially in the one man shelter category.

A very well thought out product. This model does not have a third window or a zippered front door. But, it will serve it's purpose well and I can't wait to get out on the ice with it. It will be easy to transport and the bench seat is great. Be aware that it will take time to assemble. Overall quality is very good.
