My friend introduced me to this gun and it was way better than my other guns. I went out and bought one immediatley and have loved it ever since. Shoots great and easy to use but the rate of fire isnt the best. But then again there arent many guns with great rate of fire. THIS GUN IS A GOOD GET!

Love it. Looks cool. It is a little heavy but you get use to it. The best paintball gun on the market. Buy it. it is defiantly worth the money.

This is a nice marker overall. But I would advise fellow beginners that the quality of paintballs you use makes a HUGE difference. When I first used this marker I used the JT Maxim paintballs I bought in the Sports Authority store and they where terrible, chopped like you wouldn't believe and if I Was lucky 1 our of every 20 shots actually hit what I Was aiming at. As soon as we changed paintballs to the Freedom Paintballs and DXS Basic Training balls, the shots where very accurate and NEVER chopped. So if you get this marker and its rediculously innacurate and chops a lot, its probably the paint your using. I also took apart the gun already to clean it(due to the poor quality balls exploding inside). It was a little hassle being my first time, but the diagrams in the book that comes with the gun help a ton. Just watch out for the springs as they like to come flying out. If your mechanically inclined you'll do just fine with it.Overall I'm very satisfied with it so far. Others I know have used it and too say its a great marker. It also has plenty of upgrades on the Tippmann website incase you get borred with the stock components. Being a beginner I'd say its a great beginner marker, I have no complaints about it. But the A5 is only about [$] more if you feel like spending more.

As a player for years, I stand by anything with the Tippmann name. I've borrowed many of my friends markers, but have only owned Tippmanns personally. Tippmann is the most rock solid brand out there, and the 98 platinum is the latest incarnation of awesome 98 series. The split reciever design is fantastic for the ease it makes upgrading and cleaning. The A.C.T. system will never chop paint, and is more reliable than electronic systems. The customizing options are endless: Flatline barrel, eTrigger, expansion chamber, AK-47 kit, etc. The only other players out there that I worry about are the ones with other 98s, Tippmann A-5s, and Tippmann X7s. For the value, significance, and sheer superiority, the 98 Platinum is simply unbeatable!

This gun is the best gun I have ever had. It is accurate and powerful. If you buy this gun you will never have to clean, send back, or unjam it. SO JUST GET IT!!!!!!!!!!

This is a good gun it's a normal gun setup of a 98 Custom original but with a few changes. This gun does make a ping noise when shot and it does not feel like your really shooting it. But there really tough and are VERY good with close combat. If your a beginner and you picked up Cannisters and a mask and what ever else. Just pick this gun!
