The Ultrak soccer referee watch is a soccer timer with a stoppage timer, a programmable countdown timer, and a secondary count-up timer. It has an electro-luminescent backlit display and also features a 1/100 second stopwatch and the time of day with an auto-calendar.
Watch has great features but as commented on by others battery life is very short and difficult if not impossible to replace. Watch stops working after about one season. I have had two of these watches and both failed within a year.
This is an ugly watch that is very utilitarian. It is inexpensive, I bought two, only used one. Comes in cheap packaging...not what I would normally buy for myself but when on the field, I wouldn't trade it for anything. I had the original Casio Ref watch which was very nice but you cant get them anymore. I gave it to my son when he became a Ref. This is the only viable alternative that keeps exact track of time. The count-down count-up timers are perfect for soccer. I ref from U8's to U16's and it has never failed. The addition of ref time is simplicity and well thought out. I HIGHLY Recommend this to the Ref, but would never use it day to day. When not on the field, its in my ref bag. The buttons are large and easy to hit with gloves on during the middle of winter but not so easy that I have ever accidentally set/reset anything.
I used this watch for six months and had to get rid of it. When I first bought it, the batteries that came with it lasted about two months. When I replaced the batteries, they lasted for a couple of more months. The watch stopped working about six months after I bought it, and in the middle of a game, so I ended up shopping around for a regular stop watch instead of this unreliable one. Do not waste your time and money on this watch unless you are willing to deal with the headaches of replacing the batteries every couple of months.
For the short time that this watch actually worked, it was quite nice. However, the first set of batteries only lasted a few months. I bought new batteries thinking that perhaps the batteries that came with the watch were old or something. Well, getting the new batteries installed was a nightmare. The watch is so poorly constructed that once you get it apart to replace the batteries, it is nearly impossible to get it back together again so that it works properly. I finally got it back together but, when I did, the light feature would not work. Not that big a deal. Anyway, the replacement batteries only lasted a few months too. This watch is a piece of JUNK. DO NOT BUY IT.
