        These are not for frequent or daily use. We needed ones that could be used 2-3 hours per day in a school environment. We were going through new, good batteries every day or two.

            While these radios may not always have the transmission range advertised, they are good for short range special events. The only two things they lack are CTCSS privacy codes and a plug for external microphone/ and earphone. Overall, great radios for the price. More realistic range is about 2 to 4 miles.
