Comments about POLAR Loop Activity Tracker:

I use this every morning when I workout. I have to put it in my shorts pocket when on the elliptical or it will not pickup my strides.
The battery life is short and I have to charge it at least twice a week. It does not sync automatically and I'm not crazy about the app and the way it displays the days activities.
The clasp and band are way better than the FITBIT that I had previously but returned when it went on the fritz. It also is sturdy and looks good on the wrist.
Overall, I like it and would recommend.
Price was better than the Fitbit as well.

Comments about POLAR Loop Activity Tracker:

I received the loop as a birthday present and was very excited to use it and fit it in with my everyday life. I'm a student and spend most of my day inside, so when my loop said that I had lost 1500 calories in the course of 8 hours behind a desk, I started to have my suspicions. Upon paying closer attention to the step counter, I realized that it had been counting somewhere around 18 steps per every 1 that I take. Also, the wireless software is not easy and does not sync half of the time. It is not accurate, and while it could just be my loop, I am returning it and probably getting a Fuel band instead. Mine is not useful, and I will not be getting another from polar.

Comments about POLAR Loop Activity Tracker:

I chose the Polar Loop because I needed something to keep me going. I have a herniated disc problem so most of my exercise takes place in the pool. I wanted something to help me keep track & to encourage me to keep going. The Polar Loop does the trick as now I am always anxious to see if I did better each day. My only problem is that I can't get the time reset but I have learned to adjust my thinking to coordinate the incorrect time with what I know the correct time difference is. If I could get this problem straightened out this would be a 5 star ++ for me.

Comments about POLAR Loop Activity Tracker:

I previously owned the FitBit Force, FitBit Flex, Bodyfit (by Sport's Authority), a Sportline Traq 370 pedometer, and now, the Polar Loop. In summary, the Polar Loop is far superior to the FitBit, Bodyfit activity trackers, and Sportline 370 pedometer.

I rate the 5 activity trackers I used in the following order:

    1. Polar Loop – Enormous gap between this and the others
    2. FitBit Force
    3. FitBit Flex
    4. Sportline Traq 370 pedometer (provides much more feedback than the FitBit or BodyFit…I'm rating it below the FitBit because it clips to your pants or fits in your pocket)
    5. BodyFit activity tracker by Sport's Authority

The Polar Loop is in a different (MUCH HIGHER) class of Activity Trackers – functionality, design, readout, activation button, looks, telephone application functionality, software, and speed of recharging (20 minutes to recharge to 100% from a battery that is drained to 10% - yes, the Loop dynamically displays the charging percentages). The computer software has a really nice feature, which displays the amount of time you are lying down, sitting, and involved in high, medium, and low energy activities.

Three of the best attributes of the Polar Loop are the readout, the wristband clasp (which SECURELY attaches the Loop to your wrist), and the fact that it is waterproof to 20 meters – 65 feet.

    • The readout provides more feedback and information, is larger, and looks like a high tech device (the Force display looks like an antiquated 1970's Atari LED display). It displays Calories burned, Steps taken, Time, the Activity amount you've completed and three different "to go" levels to reach your activity goal – the amount of time needed with higher activities (running, jogging, playing sports), moderate activities (walking), or less active activities (cleaning the house, working on the yard, etc).

    • The fact that the Loop's wristband clasp securely fastens the tracker to your wrist is a huge advantage over the FitBit and Bodyfit products. The Force, Flex, and Bodyfit trackers repeatedly fell off of my wrist. The Force was the fist activity tracker I tried and fell off of my wrist 6 times in the first week of owning it (twice while in Zumba class, twice while social dancing, and twice while lifting weights). I contacted FitBit and Bodyfit's customer support and they offered no solutions to the problem (FitBit and Bodyfit use a similar wristband clasping mechanism and each fail repeatedly). My solution was to use a piece of Gorilla brand duct tape to physically ensure the clasps could not disengage. This solved the issue of the product inadvertently un-clasping, but it made it more difficult to remove the band - every time I needed to recharge it or after working out so I could shower (FitBit and Bodyfit are not waterproof). This clasp design flaw also meant I had to install a new piece of duct tape every time I reattached the activity tracker on my wrist.

    • The fact that the Loop is waterproof means I can shower with it after working out, swim, water ski, kayak, snorkel, surf, body surf, boogey board, river raft, fish, use the Jacuzzi, do any aquatic sport/activity, and I don't have to worry about it becoming wet while washing the dishes or the car or when I service the pool

Some have commented about their challenges in "sizing" the Polar Loop. If you can use a scissor and cut a piece of rubber reasonably straight, sizing the wrist band will not be an issue.

I did not have an issue with the Force as many had - the allergic skin reaction. I did return my Force with the recall, as I did not want to risk having any future issues with the Force (best decision I could have made).

I also did a review for the BodyFit by Sports Authority Activity Tracker if you care to read it.

Comments about POLAR Loop Activity Tracker:

I think its a great tool, but compared to my old BodyBugg it's lacking quite a bit of flexibility. I stopped wearing the BodyBugg because it wasn't waterproof, which this one is. BB also had a paid website, and this one is free. But this one has no place to customize your goals....which is sorely lacking. Nowhere does the paperwork tell you that you cannot customize your number of steps, activity level or that kind of thing. That is a huge problem. Also, I would like it to beep when you reach a goal instead of having to press a button to find out.
