Perhaps it was because they had been rolled up in their cellophane wrappers for years on the store shelf, but when we unrolled two of them, the noxious adhesive glue fumes nearly made us pass out. If you're using this on a hardwood floor, and you're a side sleeper, you'll need at least two of them (one on another) to make a deeper pad. It's not a bad product, it was just the fumes that were horrible.
