As a stream hydrologist I virtually live in waders during the field season and work them very hard. This is perhaps my fourth or fifth pair of breathable chest waders over seven or eight years; in addition to a similar number of hip waders.

Needed something quick in a pinch for some spring work and picked up a pair of the Caddis Deluxe Breathable Chest Waders at a local Sports Authority; size XL. I wear a 34" inseam and a size 12 hiking boot. In cold weather and icy water, I wear a pair of fleece pants inside the waders along with a light pair of polypro socks and a heavy pair of socks.

During the two days of higher altitude work in icy water with air temp around 60 deg. the waders breathed reasonably well except for the usual condensation in the neoprene foot and below the water line. The lower leg had adequate room for wearing fleece over jeans. The pockets worked great for my field book, gps and other small items.

The only bad feature with this pair was the stocking foot. With my heel in the heel of the stocking foot, there was no less than 2 inches of extra toe length! You could have put a size 14 foot in there. I called Caddis to find out if this was normal and they said they have now downsized the foot and that I probably have an older pair with the larger size foot. Made sense.

The extra layer of fabric over the knees and shin area is a great feature. My waders usually begin to leak or get poked in that area first.

Overall, they functioned well. The only negative I had is with the foot size but that appears to have been resolved on newer models.

Not bad for the price, but check the foot fit and don't go by the sizing on the box. I was in too much of a hurry and didn't try them on.

I had to send it back wrong size I hope you have received it and that you will send me the correct size the feet were a 13 and I am an 11 boot size looked good and felt great when I had them on a little tight in the crotch
