Comments about TIMEX Ironman Easy Trainer GPS Watch:
I'm a triathlete and competitive runner and use this watch primarily for run training. It is my first GPS watch and I was persuaded to try it due to the very attractive price. You need to study the online operating manual before using the watch the first time as not all of the functions are intuitive. It takes a couple of runs to get comfortable with all the functions and toggling through the screens during a workout. Once you get the hang of it, all the data you can collect is great. Linking up the GPS with a satellite only takes a minute or two. Contrary to other online reviews I have read, you CAN pause a GPS workout and then re-start it without losing any data-a handy feature when stuck at stoplights, etc. I particularly like the autolap feature for analyzing my saved workouts after the fact. I use the interval timer to time my run/walk intervals on long runs and my only complaint is that the beeper is barely audible, particularly if running along traffic. On my old Ironman watch I could just wait to hear the beeper, now I have to keep an eye on the watch to stay on my interval schedule. I like this watch and would have given it 5/5 stars if not for the inaudible interval timer beeper.
