Son hits with power

By Anonymous

from Undisclosed

Comments about EASTON Mako Senior League Baseball Bat (-10):

My 12 year old son has the -11 30 inch 2 1/4 mako. He loves it. However, the plug at the end of the barrel pops out and this seems to be common with this bat. Easton has a good policy for a one-time replacement. My question is - does Easton have a permanent fix for this issue. Thanks

Great bat

By Littledaddychop

Comments about EASTON Mako Senior League Baseball Bat (-10):

This is a great bat! The best bat I ever had is this bat. I just got it and it is amazing. I consistently hit it between the gaps hard. All the kids on my team ask to use it. The only thing I don't like is that the paint chips. 5/5 bat though!

Awesome bat for my 9U son playing 10U

By texasbaseball

Comments about EASTON Mako Senior League Baseball Bat (-10):

Very good bat we have the S1 and the XL both good as well but not nearly as long as the Mako. He has has hit this bat consistently at 250 feet plus. It is a hot bat with great balance. He has never complained or reacted to a stinger from the Mako, its truly the clean up bat for us.

Proof of Value is in Results

By Bytor35

Comments about EASTON Mako Senior League Baseball Bat (-10):

As a father, I was a bit tepid on enthusiasm initially simply based on price, but I listened closely to the consistent commentary about this bat, our son's past success with an Easton bat, and perhaps the biggest factor which is our son's pure love for the game and wanting to do his best. All these combined convinced me this particular bat was likely to deliver on its price. After just 3 games of this season, our son unequivocally loves this bat and multiple players on his team of similar size also request to use it. Why? Simply the results couldn't have been better. After 3 games using this bat, our son alone has at least 10 RBI, while batting 1.000 w 7 RBI in a single game alone. And if relevant to anyone else how much we think of this bat as part of his bag of equipment, he's also in the starting pitching rotation and is 1-0 through the same 3 games. Having confidence in your gear allows any player to focus on playing. Should the bat be a part of an entire season's worth of stats any way near the form of what we've already seen, we will have considered this a no-brainer purchase for our son at least.

Not for everyone

By Jeter11

Comments about EASTON Mako Senior League Baseball Bat (-10):

I agree with the other review about the MAKO bat being a dud. My son has hit with an S3 big barrel in travel ball and the xl2 (2 1/4 barrel) in league. He has always been a solid power hitter with both. I was told this was the ultimate combination of the S series and XL series. My son cannot hit with any power with the MAKO. I am not sure if it doesn't fit his swing or if there is something wrong with the bat. He hits well with an S3 that is 1 oz heavier and his xl2 is 1 oz lighter so don't think it is the weight of the bat. We love the Easton bats in general, just not the MAKO.

Something wrong with the Mako

By Bears14

from Dallas, TX, USA

Comments about EASTON Mako Senior League Baseball Bat (-10):

Son had great anticipation for this bat. Tried it out in cage demo and was excited when he got it. But this thing is a dud. It's just dead and has a really small sweet spot in spite of the long barrel. We've allowed for a lengthy break in and it just isn't performing. Had other kids hit with it to see if it was a user problem. Ball doesn't jump off of it and anything hit just a smidge off the sweet spot just flutters and dies like nothing any of us have seen. Went back to old bat and performance came back so now I have a $350 decorative bat.

Wrong barrel size

By BaseballMom

from Hagerstown, MD, USA

Comments about EASTON Mako Senior League Baseball Bat (-10):

Our son loves this bat, however, the salesperson at told us it was legal for Pony and it is not. The barrel on the bat we bought is 2 3/4 and Pony regs say no bigger than 2 5/8. Now, going back to Dick's to get the correct bat. I will probably have to fight because the sales associate didn't know his merchandise. Unfortunately, this bat can not be used in Little League, Pony or at the High School level where I have players.
