This was purchased at Sports Authority by someone who gave this to me as a Christmas gift. I've been using The Fitbit for a week now and I'll give an honest evaluation of this.

SETTING UP
The setup was fairly simple. You place the mini transmitter inside the band and strap it on your wrist. Then you insert the USB dongle into your computer and it will install the driver/software for you. Once that is done you match it to your unit and setup is complete. Next you simply go to the website and create/setup a profile. After that is done you could customize the Dashboard. I have mine set to track Calories Burned, Steps, Distance, Active Minutes, Calories Burned and Sleep. Please note that you could accept the defaults... but for my particular goals, it's set too easy so I made mine more harder. For example, I set my daily calories to only 1500 so it will warn me if I go over that.

In addition, there is a log feature that allows you to log your food. This is optional, but it allows you to keep track of your calories and record your foods. The database is large and if there is something not found you can easily add any of your favorite foods.

USING THE FITBIT DEVICE
Basically, all you have to do is wear it. There are five LED lights that give you status updates. Once you learn how to read them... using the Fitbit becomes very easy. Double tapping the unit gives you a progress report... with each light indicating 20% of your progress met.

SLEEP MODE
This one was the tricky one. But tapping the top repeatly until it vibrates starts sleep mode and when you awaken, just tap it repeatly again until you feel the vibration to stop sleep mode. You will see 2 lights if you double tap it.. that lets you know it's in sleep mode.

MOBILE APP
This is the part that most people complain about. If you read the specs, it clearly states which phones are supported. So only iPhone 4S+ and Samsungs running Android 4.3+ are supported. It uses Bluetooth 4.0. If you have a Nexus 5, it will not sync because it doesn't support that device yet with the mobile app. I have a Galaxy Note 2 and I just received the Android update to 4.3 a week before receiving this so I had absolutely no problems at all. The mobile app is great and sync when you open the app. The Dongle is set to sync from your computer every 20 minutes, if you were wondering.

MY OPINION
I actually like this device a lot. There is an alarm feature built in so you can use it as an alarm clock... and you can also post daily or weekly result on Twitter or Facebook (optional). There is also a huge community/forums you can visit after opening the Dashboard and Friends you can add to see and compare results with. I really do like this device and I highly recommend it to anyone.

I love the concept but not sure if it really is that accurate. I wish I had bought the upgraded model, the Force, which has a watch and you can actually see on it how many steps you've taken. I don't have an I-phone or Samsung Galaxy so can't sync it to my phone. I have to wait until end of day to get results on my desktop.

Comments about FITBIT Flex Wireless Activity & Sleep Wristband:

Wear the product usually every day and it does motivate me to keep moving if I see I am low on my dots/steps. My biggest issue is the band. I have had it for about 3 months and do not shower with it but the band has broken already. Actually after 2 months it tore partially and I have been nursing it along and finally it broke. Thank goodness it was while I was sleeping and found in my bed. I would have been really upset if I had lost the device while out. When I was in store to get a new band another woman was there buying new bands for exactly the same reason. Other than the band not lasting that long, I do LOVE this device. Just seems to be a design flaw and needs to be addressed.

Comments about FITBIT Flex Wireless Activity & Sleep Wristband:

I'm a girl with small wrists so the flex is still a little bulky. It's a little inconvenient under long sleeves since I don't wear baggy clothes, but overall the functionality is fantastic. I can control it from my wrist or the phone app. The sleep tracking is what I love the most since it's helped me figure out my optimal bed time and rise time.

Comments about FITBIT Flex Wireless Activity & Sleep Wristband:

Unsure how accurate the "steps" count is - it seems as though any arm movement signals a step was taken. Also it is easily activated with a mis-bump - it would be great if there was a better activation control.

I needed to get back in shape after several years of not doing much in fitness catagory. I've gained weight and needed to lose[[ASIN:B00GKSBZLE]] the extra pounds. I saw this advertised and it sounded like something that would get me motivated again. This user friendly bracelet did the trick. I'm now getting in the exercise that I had been neglecting for so long and have started losing the pounds and toning up the muscles. It is a reminder to get moving. It even keeps track of my sleep and eating habits, calories consumed and calories burned. I recommend this bracelet for anyone trying to get in shape or stay in shape. It comes in different sizes so it can be used by men or women.

I really liked it while I was using it - but it was pretty shortlived. After less than a week, the battery only lasted for an hour after it was fully charged. I will be swapping it out for another one, and hope that one lasts longer.

I was very excited to try this product out. I used the fitbit for 2 weeks and was in love. It synced right to my Samsung phone I was impressed. Day 1 of my 3rd week after fully charging the battery in the USB connector nothing showed up on my watch. Not lights appeared and no activity was showing. Daed......2 weeks and the watch was dead. The company does not have a number you can call, only an email that you can contact them with. I contacted them and have been waiting a week now. A week without a product that you because addicted to is a sure was to turn off a customer. Returning this!!
