The Ironwood Pacific DryWave Air Dryer gently warms and dries the air to prevent the formation of mold and mildew on wall surfaces. The energy-efficient design draws no more power than a common household light bulb, making it ideal for boats, RVs, cabins, and homes in spaces up to 1,000 cubic feet. Designed for safe, continuous operation, the DryWave Air Dryer has no moving parts and incorporates a thermal cut-off switch to prevent overheating.
Comments about Ironwood Pacific Dry Wave Air Dryer:
There is no way to make humidity magically go away. For an air dryer to work, it must extract the moisture and collect it or drain it to the outside.
The manufacturer gets away with selling this because warmer air does indeed hold more moisture than cold air. Notice the description is carefully worded -- prevents mold on WALL surfaces. In other words, if the unit is placed on the floor against a wall, no mold will form on the WALL DIRECTLY ABOVE THE UNIT. True dat.
From the Mfr. FAQ: Because the DryWave prevents mold and mildew by raising the air temperature...The DryWave is not a dehumidifier and does not collect moisture
