I work facilities and am on my feet 10 plus hours a day. I keep two pair around and wear them for work. I switch them every day and they seem to last longer. I get about 2 years out of a pair. Not bad for three days a week, 10 plus hours a day.

These are the best work boots I've ever owned. Even though there hiking boots. I work in a subway train maintainance facility which means alot of walking and these boots wear like iron. I have worn these boots for 50+ hours a week for 4 years. I just orderd another pair. They are so comfortable I have sleeped in them many times. I've had alot of boots in my career these are kick buttocks.

I use these boots for hiking, hunting, motorcycle riding. The soles of my first pair are finally wearing out after over five years' use. The originals have remained waterproof and comfortable, and I will continue to wear them for knocking around the house. The boots wear well and are comfortable in hot or cold weather. I snow sealed the original pair once to twice a year, and the leather has held up extremely well. I had no doubts in replacing them with a new pair of the same Altitude IVs. I did notice that the new pair have a shorter tongue, which is convenient and will reduce pant bottoms sticking inside the tongues. Oh, I also noticed that the new upper speed lace hooks are a little lighter/flimsier than the original pair's, but will be easy to replace if they break. I am happy to highly recommend Hi Tech Altitude IVs. Sports Authority had a sale on, and I couldn't resist. Glad I picked up my second pair.

I was looking for a hiking boot to wear on Boy Scout adventures and family camping...something that's capable of dealing with Michigan weather; this is it. The Hi-Tec Altitude IV is a substantial yet comfortable boot that is both very functional and very cool looking. The only con is, my feet get too warm wearing them indoors for more than an hour and these aren't even the insulated ones! This is one of those products you really feel good about after you buy it. Stop shopping for a great boot at a great price - you found it!

Absolutely no break-in period for me. Have had this pair since June of 2009 and still wearing like iron. After being totally soaked enough times, had to re-spray to waterproof them. No other problems at all.

I hike the southern Nevada Desert in very tough terrain and this boot handles it with ease. I usually go through a pair in six months due to the tough terrain. Will by 2 more pairs to have on hand.

After weeks with my knees hurting like a **expletive** I decided it was time to try better shoes before seeing a doctor. The shoes I used to wear were cheap and I would wear them out in a matter of a couple of months. The first time I tried these on in the store, I had happy feet. I tried others that day too... but none of the others made my feet happy immediately like these did! And because of the great construction of these boots, my knees haven't bothered me since either. I wear them EVERY day and am going on my 3rd pair (in about 3 1/2 years). I would hate the think what the world (and my knees) would be like if these were ever discontinued. If I could afford it, I would stock up with a lifetime supply LOL (seriously, I really would!) Definately worth EVERY penny!

This is my 3rd pair of these and could not be happier. It is hard to find a good shoe with "great" arch support! This is why I keep coming back. Also I can wear the competition out out in 1/3 the time of these boots. I would highly recommend these to anyone!
