I have worn this model of Hi-Tec Boots since they came out almost 10 years ago and it is the only hiking boot I buy. I wear them almost everyday and they usually last me about 2 yrs. It is the only boot that I can purchase, put on and immediately go for a hike or work in. They are 100% waterproof. I have forged streams, wear in rain downpours, wear in slush in the winter and have never had wet feet, except when water comes in the top. I wear them when clearing sidewalks & driveways of snow, they have provided my feet with exceptional warmth in subzero temps. I currently have a chocolate & black high top pair and a chocolate low top pair. I strongly recommend this boot.

I have two pair of these shoes. One for everyday and recreation the other for lawn and yard work.
Great fit and comfort.
Shoe laces break over time on the open metal eyelets,but would rather have metal than plastic.

These are THE most comfortable shoes/boots I have EVER worn!! I have to wear additional heel cushion support with any other footwear I own, but not these. Like any and all other Hi-Tec/Magnum shoes/boots I have ever owned, these Altitude IV boots are true-to-size, comfortable, and a GREAT value! I now own four pair of these boots (Altitude IV), and I am thinking about buying two more pair to guard against not being able to find them anymore when (or if) these wear out! If you are looking for a good, high quality, durable, comfortable hiking boot, I strongly suggest that you purchase a pair or tow of these boots,I don't think you will be disappointed!

I really like these boots. This is my 3rd pair in the last ten years. I hike or snowshoe 1-4 times a week and these boots do the job. They require little if any break in. They keep my feet dry in wet and damp conditions I normally encounter when hiking in Colorado. They provide good sole bruise protection from sharp or small rocks underfoot. Really good ankle support. And all of this at a really good price.

I like to be prepared for anything: so I like to wear the same shoes out on a mountain that I'd wear at work. These are great!

I'm a year round bicycle commuter, and I've always had a problem with wet feet with the rest of me dry. No longer.

These shoes are well made (so far) and very reasonably priced.

I had 2 pair of boots prior to the purchase of these. One pair was more for outside work shoveling snow or doing work on the roof. I also had a pair of brown leather hiking boots that I wore in the winter and for hiking during the warmer months. I needed a pair of black boots that would give me the option of color so I chose these in the black color.
They are very comfortable and go on easy with out having to take half the laces out. They are very comfortable and warm in the winter, water proof and the snow just wipes or melts right off without leaving any water marks. They are not made for shoveling in a foot of snow because they are only 6" high. They are a very pleasing to the eye and can be worn with jeans or Dockers for that casual look.
These are the best pair that I have purchased without breaking the bank.

While everything appears to be nice with these boots, they are wide. I have an average size foot, not narrow not wide, and the regular/M size was too wide. In addition, there was too much room between the top of my foot and the tongue. Overall the length was accurate. Is a shame as the quality seems improved over previous model which I've owned. These are being sent back. I would only recommend these to someone with wide feet.
