I bought this ball machine on sale [$] it is well worth the money. It is easier to get in and out of the car then I had anticipated (40 lbs or so), but I must put inside the car as it wont fit in the trunk. It's great to be able to get some hitting in when you don't have time to make arrangements to get a playing partner...or if you don't have someone that matches up to your ability. I did not get the remote control model and I do not miss it. I think the remote control model was an extra $400 or so. If you're working with kids it may be usefull, but it seems expensive to me. I am a 4.0 level player and this machine has provided me with a lot of practice time and has definitely impoved my game.
i bought this machine last fall of 2006. it was the best investment in tennis i had. i am a beginner, and with this machine i learned quickly groundstrokes (fore/back) with topspin/underspin/flat throws. a great tool for exercise esp on cold weather when nobody is available to play with. a lot of variances in ball movement including lob, laterals slow and high speed, that will surely get the best of you on the court. Battery lasts about 6hours, normal charging (without fastcharge) takes about 12hrs.
