This bike rack is easy to assemble, but does not fit every vehicle. There is a fit list on the box which I saw AFTER it arrived and my SUV was not on it. I tried anyway to go online and see the updated fit list. My car was listed there, but installation was so incredibly difficult. It took an hour and a half and scratched my paint.. This product should only be advertised for car trunk mount not SUVs. A car trunk would be the easiest way to install it. I'm returning it.

This is a really great and safe product. I just drove five hours with it with 3 bikes on and it did not move a bit from it's original position.
It does take time and some sweat to put it and the bikes up but it is really worth it.
SAFE and does not damage the car.

I wanted a trunk mounted rack that fit at least 4 bikes (I don't think anyone makes one that fits more). I needed to fit mine, my wife's and two kids bikes on it. Unfortunately, I could not get my wife and kids bikes put on. The two bars that hold the bikes could not be adjusted to accommodate the different size, shape, and frame configurations of the various bikes. Unless you are mounting multiple bikes with horizontal top tubes (men's bike's), I don't think this type of bike rack will work. However, I am not returning the rack since it was not very expensive, and I hope the kids next bikes will fit after they grow out of these.

Installed the carrier in about 5 minutes even the first time out of the box. Bikes go on easily, and 4 bikes were no problem.

Great product. It was either this rack or get a hitch and hitch rack. Opted for the less expensive alternative. Drove from FL to NC with 2 26" bikes, a 24", and a 20" (all aluminum frames). The rack was great...no bouncing around or scratching the car. The installation was a little tricky since I'm only 5' trying to get it on a mini-van, but it was do-able. Very smooth ride and easy to use. The 2 cons... (1) the way the rack sits on my van the bottom foam bumpers sat on the license plate. The edges of the license plate sliced the foam bumpers and tore them, but not all the way. Had they ripped all the way it would have scratched the car horribly. Will likely remove them and replace them with a water noodle sliced lengthwise and wrapped around the bottom bar. Should have the same effect. (2) the side straps have to go at a pretty strong angle to hook onto metal instead of glass or plastic on my mini-van. It would be better if the side straps were installed BELOW the locking arms so they could hook horizontally instead of at an angle. However, on our SUV, there is metal around the hatch window and this would not have been a problem on that vehicle. Would highly recommend this product.
