Comments about BLACKBURN Flea 2.0 USB Front and Rear Bicycle Light Combo:

I've had these lights for about a year now. The front (white) light still works great. I never ride more than an hour when it is dusk, and it has enough battery life for that. The rear light worked great too, but now would not charge.

My suspicion is that the batteries in them do not get charged properly: perhaps they get over-charged or drained to fully empty: both of these things will kill the Li batteries in them. I wonder if keeping the red light charged while not in use would have saved it? Li batteries, when not in use, should be somewhat charged. If left unused a long time and they discharge fully, which is what I think happened on my red light, they will die. So, I'm not sure if it is an issue with the lights, batteries, or user error, but the end result is a non-working light. I would expect products to protect their internal batteries - not to drain fully and not to overcharge. The charger is a standard 5V USB voltage but with two oddly spaced connectors: one can probably make a replacement if needed, but mine still works fine - it's the light that failed. Bought from Sports Authority.

Comments about BLACKBURN Flea 2.0 USB Front and Rear Bicycle Light Combo:

To qualify this review, I purchased USB lights based on recommendations from friends who ride rode bikes because of the ability to charge them versus replace batteries. I didn't want to spend hundreds of dollars on lights so I got the front & back flea 2.0 combo. I'm putting this same review on both front and back so everyone knows NOT to waste their money buying this product. I purchased mine from Sports Authority.

This light looks great and in theory would have been perfect except for the utter lack in quality and wrongly advertised runtimes. I always ran my light flashing and NEVER got the 5 hour runtime they advertise, in fact I barely got between 1 to 2 hour runtime out of them on a full charge.

These lights also completely stop charging within less than 6 months on the provided USB charger and there's no other way to charge them. I don't even believe that replacing the USB charger would have charged them.

Within the first 30 days my front light had stopped charging completely so I replaced it and within 6 months both pair just stopped charging. I keep very good care of my equipment so I know for a fact it was due to anything that I did. I sent mine back to the Manufacturer and am requesting a FULL refund, I had to pay for the shipping back to them and am still waiting for my refund as it's confirmed they received it 2 weeks ago on Monday April 14, 2014.

Long story short, ALWAYS save your receipt while it's covered under Manufacturer warranty and DON'T WASTE your money on this product. I had 2 pairs already exhibit the same defects described above.
