Comments about ALPINE DESIGN Mesa 8 Speed Up Tent:
We are avid campers and our tents thru the years get used and abused alot (every weekend for the full summer and sometimes left up for a few weeks). So for me to say that I really like a tent, it's saying something. We had to replace our coleman 8 person tent at the last minute because a joint had brokent (only 3 uses) so I wanted to look at another brand. This one the dimensions were perfect for us, our queen size air matteress and our gear. When packed it is long and heavy so it won't just fit in a backseat, but fits through our passthrough in our vehicle (sorta like ski bags). Now we just camped in Northern NH for 6 days over memorial day weekend where it actually had heavy winds, lots of rain, and SNOW. It held up to all of it and we were able to sleep in comfort. I noticed only one trickle of water in a corner. Typically I'll rewater proof the seams on a new tent, but didn't have time, so I was impressed that's all we had with the horrid weather we were in. Putting it up was easier than the last one. The rain fly is very tight which makes putting on a little tricky, but that tightness kept the snow from collecting which is why other camper's tents near us ended up collapsing. The poles held very strond in the high winds and never felt it was going to break or fly away. Packing up was also much easier than the last. Folding up was much easier since it's more square and heavier duty joints. The straps are heavy canvas and the bag has an expansion system so when you put it in you can then zip it up to make it more compact. I loved the rain fly extending over the door, the mud flap & lip so we weren't pouring water in every time we opened the door. The corner pouches also let us keep are regular used items available instead of having to dig through bags all the time. I will recomend this tent to many of my friends!!
