Comments about Alpine Design Horizon 3 Tent:

i bough this tent from the Sports Authority - Paramaus NJ location.
The staff helped me identify a good tent for two people in a good price range.

Ok regarding the tent - It is very easy to Install no guide required. Quality is amazing for the price i paid. the outer layer add all the beauty and extra entrance space to navigate the tent when you step in and step out. The tent has good pockets to store your articles.

only one down side of this tent is . though its says for three people it originally fits only two people. i am 5.6 tall and my wife is 5 it was a ok fit for us. if you are taller about 6ft then i would not suggest you this tent.

other wise this is the best tent i ever got and i am very happy with the quality

Comments about Alpine Design Horizon 3 Tent:

I normally buy high end lightweight gear for cycle touring. This tent is not appropriate for anything but car camping, which is what I bought it for. It goes up easily, has a large vestibule, kept us dry during an overnight moderate rain. Is very well ventilated without fly, pretty well ventilated with fly on/flaps open. Roomy inside with enough pockets and a gear loft. im happy with my purchase.

Bought this on sale at sports authority. They do not warranty the products they sell unless you buy their extended warranty. One of the tent poles broke as we were putting the tent up. Still used tent for two days. It rained a little and we stayed dry, but man is this tent HOT! Only the door has a zippered window for ventilation. You can roll the fly on the sides if you had something to tie it with, but then you'd have to get wet if it rains. It is very low, so a lot of bending to get in and out. Disappointed.

I usually prefer smaller tents but I was needing to move up to a slightly bigger tent for my trip that got too big. The Alpine Design Horizon 3 worked well giving me more space without me getting a bad time from my minimalist river runners. The tent was very spacious yet not too big. We did an three day river trip and the tent packed well into a wet bag and slept 3 people with room to spare. The tent went up easily except the rainfly was complicated and I let a friend figure it out when I got frustrated. Not sure of this tent's durability yet, time will tell. I thought that for the price it was the perfect 3 man tent.

Comments about Alpine Design Horizon 3 Tent:

I bought this tent at Sports Authority on one of their great sales for my 13 year old grandson and he loves it. He's put it up twice and has slept in it three nights in summer weather in the Sierras. It has good extras like the vestibule for storing dirty boots outside and an interior ceiling net for lights or wet socks and two interior pockets for flashlights.

It is single stitched and is labelled as a three season tent and I would stick with that recommendation. It will definitely not stand up to constant high winds or other harsh winter conditions. I've spent many a night in 60 and 80 mph winds oi open terrain in super high tech and expensive tents and this tent would be shredded in those conditions. So stay within the limitations and you'll be happy and proud like my grandson.

Spacious and easy to set up, this tent held three backpackers easily, with room in the vestibule for packs. Unfortunately, even though the tent was handled with care, a fiberglass pole suffered some splintering. The tent still works, but it's definitely damaged.

First time set-up took about 20 minutes because I couldn't figure out which part of the rainfly was what. The directions wern't that helpful. The rainfly has 3 zipped sections and I just couldn't easily find the front of it. Otherwise, now that I know how it's set up, it will go faster next time.

Once set up, the flies and bugs seem to get caught just above the top of the tent and below the rainfly so they get trapped. During the day, there are a ton of flys trapped and is almost disgusting with how many there are, all buzzing just above you.

It's not a tent for the daytime as it will get too hot quickly with the rainfly on in the sun. Make sure it's placed in shade. It's pointless without the rainfly unless you expect zero rain so you have to use it.

It's not a tent for people that hate to bend over to get in as the opening is low.
