    Comments about FreeMotion 775 Treadmill:

My wife and I purchased the 775 two years ago and it has been a great machine. Now we are getting some squeaks, but that is why we purchased the extended warranty. I do wish we had a larger room to store it in, because it does take up a lot of room in our living room. Just like everything else, things wear out and some will be lemons. It is a heavy machine, but if you don't exercise then you may change your mind after lifting it. Overall its been an excellent machine for our family, we use it almost daily and even twice a day.

    Comments about FreeMotion 775 Treadmill:

We spent $1,500 on this back in April 2014, and for the money, I expected better. It is well built and sturdy, BUT, it is very noisy. It seems like every day there is a new squeak, creek, or thump! No matter what I do to it (ie. incline it, walk, run) it still makes many different noises. We have a 6 year old Nordictrack next to it, and it is quieter. Other than the noises, which are extremely annoying, it is a good treadmill. The max speed of 12 is great for a sprint (for me), and the incline up to 15 is good. The canned programs are ok, and the ifit is good as well if you are into that. It's a bit quirky at times though. At a price point of $1,400-$1,500, I believe you can find better on the market.

    • Can't See Touchscreen

    Best Uses

      Comments about FreeMotion 775 Treadmill:

So disappointed with this purchase. I am 5'5 and can't see the touchscreen when I run. The reason I bought this model was for the color touch screen with the mapping function to show you the terrain. Unless your six feet or taller you will have a difficult time reading the touchscreen which is positioned at an angle that makes it very difficult to read. You can't adjust it at all so even with the lights off you still can't read the touch screen while running.

They should really make it adjustable so you could position the led to make it useable regardless of your height or where you like to position yourself on the treadmill while you run.

It is a stable piece of equipment although needs to be tightened and oiled often as it squeaks easily.

Also you have to be an ifit member to create maps. They do not come automatically and it has to be done on line with the account you have to pay for.

I went in to buy a basic treadmill and came out with the 775. I was very excited. I bought their 5-year plan that came in very good use. I now run just about everyday with the 775. Bar far the best money ever spent.

              • Stuffed With Adware

              Best Uses

                Comments about FreeMotion 775 Treadmill:

When I was looking into purchasing a treadmill, I wish someone would have relayed the following complaints:

                - Adware: This beast is a 400 lb beast filled with spam for iFit. Yes, you can track your workouts, monitor your progress, and download new workouts, but only if you want to pay an additional yearly fee to join iFit. Fine - so I've decided that I don't want to join iFit, and will continue to track my progress on Excel, as I've done for years… but I still have to hear the advertisements every time I turn the machine on or finish a workout!

                - Pulse Monitor: The hand-grip pulse monitor is incredibly inaccurate - underestimating a post-workout pulse by up to 50 BPM! If you want to check your pulse at the end of the workout, you are much better off just taking your own pulse and using the timer on the display - but then again…

                - Timer: The timer is completely inaccurate! Especially during rest intervals - if you pause the workout , 6 minutes will have passed on the treadmill timer, while in real life (using a stopwatch), only 4 minutes will have passed!

                - Calorie measurement: There is nowhere on the standard console to input your present weight, making any caloric consumption measurement highly suspicious. (I use calorie measurement to standardize workout intensity for comparison)

                - Interface: The touch interface is very clunky. Many times you have to apply moderate-strong pressure to get it to register. And if the machine believes you to have pressed the "PAUSE" button twice, it ends the workout irretrievably. (With, adding insult to injury, an annoying advertisement for iFit yet again).

                - Connectivity: Forget about connecting this thing to your iPhone/mp3 player or television. A USB port should be exactly that - "Universal" - but somehow, the manufacturers have screwed that concept up.

There are a number of bonuses that would be nice (i.e., programming customizable workouts) that might be available with the iFit subscription, but I refuse to shell out any more cash.

The pros of the machine are that it is sturdy and I expect to run many miles on it, but for the cost, you should be entitled to a little more.

I had been searching for the best deal on a treadmill for several months. I finally decided to take the plunge and invest in the 775. The Sports Authority rep recommended this was the best deal on their floor. I'm extremely pleased with my purchase. the touch screen workouts are absolutely a must to cure the boredom factor. very quiet, no hesitation on the belt at all (which is something my old treadmill had...which is why I upgraded). the machine does fold up, however, I have it in the extra bedroom so there is no need to fold it up. the fan is a huge bonus. I also really enjoy the video workouts in Hawaii. A lot of fun. I recommend you do your research like i did. You'll find this is the best deal out there.

                  Comments about FreeMotion 775 Treadmill:

The treadmill is very heavy, I almost wish we had someone deliver it, but thanks to family and friends, we were able to set it up. It did take about 5 guys who are medium build to carry the treadmil in the box from our car into our home. Set up was pretty standard to many other things, just follow directions.
The only major problem we are having right now is that if we are on the treadmil, I can't watch my regular T.V., the cable keeps going out, not sure what the problem is yet. The internet witht the wi-fi on the actual tradmil is also a little confussing to use, you cant start your program, until you have started your workout and then it stops if you try to make changes, very confussing. Also, having problems with the USB port to plug in the IPOD, I had to buy an additional plug to use that portion of the machine. The workout part is great, just wish I would have not spend the extra money on the wi-fi stuff. NOT NEEDED, YOU CAN DO THE SAME STUFF WITH YOUR IPAD, IPHONE, IPOD. Which we have all of the above.

                  Comments about FreeMotion 775 Treadmill:

This unit's weakness is it's control panel. Either the hardware is poor quality or the software is buggy or both. We got about 1 week's use before the control panel would turn on and off at will or just freeze up. They mailed us a new control unit (took 3 weeks) and it worked for about 2 weeks and then we had a Tech finally came out. He really didn't know much about the electronics and now after another week, the control panel turns on but not the motor. Have to wait another week for tech to come out again - he gets more exercise than we do at this point - piece of junk.
