If you use the handrails, you have to walk on the front treadmill cover. Handrails should be positioned farther behind front of treadmill. There is plenty of room behind you. I put the treadmill together by myself, which is very doable. The hardest part were the recessed screw holes in the handles. The treadmill measures miles in thousandths, but does not allow you to enter your weight for more accurate calorie count. I have had to reset the incline multiple times after the function locks up. One of the handles does not fit properly, a cosmetic issue. The treadmill maintains a continuous count of distance, calories and feet of incline, until you delete. The speed seems to be off by at least 10%. 3.1 mph is more like 3.5 mph on other treadmills.

Comments about Pro-Form Power 995C Treadmill:

My husband and I set this up together in 2 hours. It does take two people, and one will have to be strong enough to tap screws. I fancy myself pretty strong and was unable to do it. Anyway, it was a straight forward set up. We've been using it for 3 weeks with no problems. We plug our MP3 player into the speakers, and the music volume gets up there. The treadmill itself it on the noisy side. It's in our basement, and you can faintly hear it upstairs. For the most part, we use it on a steady 1% incline and various speeds. I have gotten the incline up to 6% with no problems. It does fold up easily if you need to do that.

I received an email from Sports Authority asking me to rate this purchase of three weeks ago, but it still hasn't arrived. Shipping was free, but, at this speed, it isn't very valuable. The treadmill may be good, but I have no way to know until it arrives: more than three weeks to receive the purchase!

Comments about Pro-Form Power 995C Treadmill:

This is a great treadmill and the deal at Sports Authority was unbeatable. After reading many reviews, I was very careful to follow the directions in assembly and it works perfectly. It took me about 3 hrs to assemble it while being very meticulous. I also had to overdrill a few holes that were too small. Also, it was missing one part (the cover for one side of the floor arm), but since that is really not visible with where I have the treadmill set up, I didn't worry about it. It is performing flawlessly and I'm really happy with how sturdy the treadmill is. The built-in HR monitor doesn't work very well at higher speeds, but I use a Garmin HRM anyway. I love the high speeds it reaches. One thing that could be better is larger sides to jump onto when you are doing intervals and taking a rest period. Outside of that, definitely worth the money for an economy treadmill. It leaves my last one in the dust.

I had help setting it, but it didn't look difficult. It's very quiet to walk and run on and I'm very pleased with it so far. It's a big treadmill, a little longer than expected, but I do like that it has a nice running deck.

Great once put together. But not one, of many screws fit any of the screw to metal pre-drilled holes. So something that should have been really easy to assemble took ages looking for smaller screws. Didn't help that the angle and proximity of the recessed holes to put the screws in was up and deep. So also need two people and a flash light.

My husband and I are both post ankle surgery and wanted something to aid in rehab. This absolutely fit the bill. Strength training and range of motion are extremely important and we believe this particular machine will help us reach and perhaps exceed our goals.
