My second Sorrento, the first lasted 12 years being ridden at least 5 days/week, and it rides even better than the first thus far without a problem. Looking forward to years of service.

Comments about Diamondback Sorrento Mountain Bike - 26" Wheels:

I purchased my Sorrento in 2005. As of today, 14 Jan 2013, the bike still runs great. The only part that I have been able to wear out is the bottom bracket. I ride about 30 miles per week cross country on roads and trails. This is a great bike for that but dont expect to run hard downhill courses, hard trails, or single tracks with this bike....it's just not made for that. Over the years, technologies have improved greatly so I'm looking for a 29er that I can do all of those insane rides on; but I think I will be keeping my DB. It has been a very good and reliable bike.

Comments about Diamondback Sorrento Mountain Bike - 26" Wheels:

Okay, so i've owned a Diamondback Sorrento bought from sports authority for about 4 years and ever since the second i rode home from the store. The bike has been serviced at 3 different shops and just as you thought the bike was fixed to last, wait what the hell was that, oh, the gears slipped again... Think of what a mountain bike is made for, rough off roading and insane handling capabilities such as grip and response. This bike, after you get it fixed for the third time is a wonderful road bike and has nice low gears that can take on any hill, brakes that can bring a raging bull to a stop and a lightweight frame that lets you pass your slow friend on the beach cruiser, that is until you go on the trails. The first thing i noticed is that the shocks decided to completely take a vacation, the front tire just didn't really grip for much on a sharp corner, and your low gears apply so much torque up a hill that your tires dig themself into the dirt. If its any notice, take your shock caps off the top of the shocks and really greese them up, they become super responsive with make off roading more of a pleasure. After only taking the bike to the trails for its second time, i heard a noice coming from the bike and when i stopped to look i saw that the sprocket was COMPLETELY BENT!!!! The bike is made for this type of conditions and that rips the confidence right out of someone when you know your bike wont be able to handle the trails. If you want a good bike that is good on the road and good on the trails, do yourself a huge favor and go the extra mile for something you can trust, the sorrento is not made to last and what happened today goes to show its not a durable design. The only thing i enjoy about the trails with this bike is the way you can drift it around the tight corners and the satisfying sound of the dirt hitting the brush.
