Comments about Tour ZT800 Adjustable Roller Hockey Skates:

OK, so these skates are bottom end in terms of price and you might think you are saving money because they will last a long time as they are adjustable. Sorry, you'd be wrong.
Firstly, the wheels. They are far too hard for indoor surfaces - which presumably is what they are designed for. That means they offer very little grip and don't give your little skater the confidence they need to do cross-overs or sharp turns.
Secondly, the lining. It is of very poor quality and will have holes in it within a matter of months. I bought 2 pairs for my 2 children and although they weren't used that much (about once a week), both linings developed holes. Alright, it may not affect the performance too much, but if you were thinking of re-selling them later, no-one will buy a second hand pair of skates with a big hole in the lining!
Thirdly, the chassis design. In their wisdom, Tour have chosen to design the chassis such that when you tighten the screws for the wheels, the wheels lock. Pf course you can loosen the screw, but then it works itself even looser and will rattle or worse, it will come off. You will then be left hunting a missing screw. The only solution is to use Loctite on the screws so that they lock even when not fully tightened. This is a pain, and of course you have to use Loctite every time you remove a wheel.
Finally, customer service from Tour is dreadful. They give a 90 day warranty on defective parts. Not compliant with any legislation, of course. You would expect an adjustable child's inline skate to last a couple of years (othrwise, why would it be adjustable?) but 90 days is all you'll get. You could probably take them to the small claims court and win, but save yourself the hassle and buy something else.
The ZT700 was a good skate. But if you think the ZT800 is an upgraded version of that, you'll be disappointed.
