No better fishing kayak for the money!

By Matt

Comments about Lifetime Tamarack Angler Kayak:

Bought this for my wife and occasional friends to use. Quite simply, this is an excellent yak for the money. We've used it in lakes and rivers in North GA, even taken it to the Bay down in FL. It handles waves very well, very maneuverable and light (comparatively speaking) which makes it easy for my wife to load and unload.

We both like the storage capability of this yak and would recommend it to anyone looking for a good quality yak. Especially for the money, we hit a major sale that Sports Authority was having and got it for around $230!

Great for the money

Comments about Lifetime Tamarack Angler Kayak:

Looked for a long time and could not pass up the sale Sports Authority had this past weekend, what a deal!

Some Pros: I took it out in some pretty rough seas, 1-2 foot swells and small breakers coming over the front of the yak. Not once did it feel unstable or tipsy; as a novice I felt this yak has great stability and I was impressed! I have read many reviews about tracking and I thought this kayak tracked very well. Unlike the picture on the site, mine came with a thin padded seat that was ok comfort wise. The back rest was nice and I liked the adjustability. It is light weight and I was able to load/unload from the top of my Jeep by myself. Was not able to fish this time out, mostly due to the weather, but I believe it will be a great platform to fish from!

Some cons: The built in rod holders in the back filled with water from the spray. Not sure if they really could do anything about that but it was annoying. Also, at the end of the day, I drained about half a gallon of water from the inside of the yak. This again was probably more due to the sea conditions and maybe my not sealing the hatches as tight as I should.

Overall I am very happy with the kayak and would recommend to anyone looking to get started into kayaking or someone who is looking for a kayak for occasional use and doesn't want to spend a grand.

Comments about Lifetime Tamarack Angler Kayak:

This is a great kayak for the price. I've used it a half dozen times to fish and a few more for just sightseeing and snorkeling. I've never owned one before this purchase, and have never tipped these over.. so they are very stable. They are not real fast in the water but that's a good tradeoff for stability! rod holder is great! Good for picnics as well in the areas around Isle of Capri :-).

Comments about Lifetime Tamarack Angler Kayak:

Bought the kayak for fishing, tracks well, very good price. only concerns which have not happened are rivets holding handles. as everyone has stated easy to fix. Great for getting out off the beach to fish the grass flats. Opens up many new fishing areas to fish from. The company needs to change rivets to stainless bolts & washers

A great value. Perfect for fishing small bays and creeks. Easy to paddle. Stable enough to stand up and paddle. The built in seat back makes long paddles easier on your back. Very satisfied with the product.

Comments about Lifetime Tamarack Angler Kayak:

Nice fishing kayak, even if it's a bit on the small size, holds a decent line and is easy to manuever if the wind isn't kicking up too badly. The rodholder is kind of junky, though, and fell in the drink. Overall, though, very good value for the price.
