I use this kayak inshore in Fl does a good job, BUT you might have to change out a rivet/s on the side handles (easy), for the price this thing is great.
If you are going to put some serious miles paddling this is not the kayak for you, but for the weekend putzn around the mangroves/nearshore it is fine...If you are newbie to yak'n, renting one from a local shop is a good idea so you get the feel for what your needs are..

          Comments about Lifetime Tamarack Kayak:

I spent several weeks researching kayaks and decided on this one after happening upon it at Sports Authority. I wanted something fun, durable, and easy to transport on family camping trips to lakes. I also wanted to be able to get out in the water without spending loads of money. Compared to the other new and used options I explored including canoes and SUP boards this seemed like a really good deal at [$]. It handles well, is virtually unsinkable, and has a nice watertight storage compartment in the rear and ample straps for gear. The handles seem fine with big washers supporting the rivets. I am also impressed with the keel design. You probably won't win any friends in the local kayak club but its not about that.

My cousin bought 2 Lotus kayaks at Sports Authority on sale,so I went there while the sale was on to look at the multi-seater "Manta". I thought it was a bit uncomfortable and found the Tamarac very comfortable and has a dry storage area. The price was great so I Bought it.I took out on a Lake(first-time ever on a kayak) and it tracked well & was pretty stable. My brother & I and cuz think its a great kayak and a steal for the money. We plan on going snook fishing on intracoastal Sept. 1st.

Purchased this kayak to use around in the local lakes/ponds and when camping. Easy to control, tracks okay. Do not expect to win any speed contests, but for a leisurely day on the water, or for fishing - this kayak cannot be beat for the price. My son (age 10) sat on it, and was using it with ease in less than 5 minutes. Looks like I'll be buying another one soon.

I live 75 miles from Sports Authority. called ahead to make sure it was in stock. The rep assured me there was one in stock and would move to front of store for my arrival the next morning. Showed up that evening just prior to close - it was sitting up front, tagged with my name....as promised. Perfect customer service. Took it out the next day - a completely stable platform, easy to row, and now am fighting my son over who "actually" owns it....he claimed it as his own after one use. 10 years old - moves it through the water easily and I feel totally at ease with him using it.

                Comments about Lifetime Tamarack Kayak:

I looked at a lot of kayaks before settling on this one. The yak is stable to a fault, and that stability comes at the expense of speed. As a 6' male, I recommend feathered, 96" paddles, but my 84" straight paddle works pretty well. Have had on a local lake and Gulf of Mexico with no problems.

                Comments about Lifetime Tamarack Kayak:

I bought this kayak on father's day and used it one week later for the first time at the Salt River. This yak lasted barely a couple hours before it started sinking. For those that don't know about the lower Salt River, it has very few rapids and is rather forgiving. Despite that, a rock managed to rip a 3" gash in the hull. After further inspection, the hull was extremely thin on the bottom of the kayak (about 2-3mm).

                Comments about Lifetime Tamarack Kayak:

I was planning to buy a midpriced popular brand kayak, but when I saw this for [$] partialy outfitted, I immediately checked the hull design and saw a more defined keel, so in five minutes I was already paying for it. A little bit worried when i arrived home because there is no real review online. Well, I just tested it in the lake and there's no difference paddling it compared to other 10 ft sit-on-top. This kayak tracks well, stable enough that you can stand on it. But pay attention to the side handle, the rivets don't have washer, like the other reviewer(in the angler version) said, the handle could slip from the rivets. The fix should be nothing compared to the price I paid.
