I liked it better

By Old Biking Jogger

Comments about Sportline Men's Solo 965 Heart Rate Monitor with Pedometer:

I actually took my fitbit Christmas present back today and got the Solo 695. Fitbit read out is very small and you need to push buttons several times. Have to charge it every 5 days or so. The reason for getting the fitbit was no chest strap. No chest strap with the 695 either. Used it today and it works great. I could not believe how accurate the pedometer was today on my measured 5 mile jog. Just a little getting all the functions down. Used the Fitbit in bed last night to monitor sleep. Just something I would want to sleep with. The reason I did not sleep well was that tight band on my arm. Explain the technology that the sleep checker is based on??

Happy in Kent.

Does the Job--So Far!

Comments about Sportline Men's Solo 965 Heart Rate Monitor with Pedometer:

My primary purpose for buying the watch was to have an item that counts my steps, monitors my heart rate without a chest strap, counts my calories, and provides basic functions of a watch. While I considered purchasing a Fitbit Charge HR, I decided to go with this watch after speaking with several reps at different stores that carry Fitbit and reading online reviews. I'll never swim with a watch on nor take a shower with it on, but I read too many reviews that were critical of Fitbit's durability after it gets too wet. Also, I did try on a Fitbit and wasn't too comfortable with the band. It just didn't appear all that durable. Nevertheless, I purchased the Solo 965. So far, I've been pleased with the watch, though I still need to better understand the heart rate monitor in terms of what is bad, good, ideal. For what I've used it for so far, I probably could have purchased a less expensive watch; however, I have decided to keep it and just increase my physical activity and familiarity with the feactures.

I haven't worn a watch on a regular basis for a decade or more because I've used my cellphone for that purpose. However, I must admit that this watch is fairly comfortable. I've worn it every day since the purchase.

I particularly like the pedometer and the calorie count. I find myself checking those features throughout the day.

At this point, I just need to increase my physical activity at which time I'll be better able to critique the overall practicality and function of the watch. For now, I'm pleased.

Comments about Sportline Men's Solo 965 Heart Rate Monitor with Pedometer:

I set a goal for 10000 steps each day. If I don't reach the goal by 9PM I will go out for a mile - 2 mile walk. I use something called the Miracle Body Shaper by Burke Spencer and get my HR up to 150. As soon as I get to 10000 I'm happy. Setting and reaching goals like this is a great way to use the HRM. Another is calories! I always use over 3000 calories each day. I reset the calorie counter at the same time prior to going to bed. This way I know if I'm as active as I was the day before.
