We bought a pair of these at the start of the season and they ripped after 3 practices. We thought it was a fluke and bought another pair and one game into her first match the new ones ripped.
These knee pads wore out within a couple of games/practices (and my daughter is 2nd string!). After a week, we could feel a hole in the padding itself. Thank goodness Sports Authority was GREAT and exchanged them out for us! :)
The largest size they have available is medium/large which is what I purchased. I have thick muscular legs and while I was able to put them on it was clear they would cut off circulation. Pretty disappointing since I tried to see how comfortable they were on the knee by kneeling on my hard tile floor - pretty cushy and probably would have been effective. I know men play volleyball but I don't know how the average man could wear these. It's like these were made for little girls. I can only recommend these to small people which is odd because a woman much larger than me was the one who said these were great...maybe they have larger sizes in the store and not online.
When I saw these in the store I was so excited. I play competitively and only need minimal protection for my knees. These are really small & lightly padded with protection for your inner and outer knee cap. They have great breath-ability & the dri- fit material is awesome. However, within 3 days I took a hard dive and it ripped the material. I've never had problems with Nike knee pads, so I'll probably get another pair, sadly I don't know if it will be these.
These knee pads provide very little protection for your knees. The padding is very thin and kind of has holes in it rather than all the way covering your knee. I have bruises all over my knees because they don't work. I have skinny legs and I bought smalls but they are so tight, they leave big marks on my legs. They ripped the first time I wore them and the seams are coming out on the sides. They are not breathable and soak up your sweat so they actually get wet. I have never had this problem with knee pads before. They also don't slide along the floor like they should and kind of stop you when you dive. Overall they are poorly made and don't give proper protection.
