Comments about Pelican International Pelican Apex 130T Kayak:

I used it as tender for my sailboat. Droped it down hill on rocks. Pulled it in the sand. The kayak is as tough as it gets.
You need an empty 1 gallon milk jug to put it up front and fill it with water when the wind gets over 15 knots. I paddled even in 40 knots for a few hundred yards.
By far the best all purpose kayak!

Comments about Pelican International Pelican Apex 130T Kayak:

This is the first Kayak that I have owned. I have been kayaking a few times with my uncle in his Old Town tandem kayak and was looking for something similar for my family. We were originally looking for a sit in model but were sold on this model for ease of entering and exiting the boat. It is very hot and we bought this kayak to beet the heat. I had a small issue in that when we looked at the boat in the store, it was missing an adjustment buckle on the rear seat. We ordered one from Pelican and I installed it before I took it out for the first time. I had kayaked a few times in different lake but this was my first time in fast water. We did have good life jackets and I highly recommend leashes for your paddles. I was pulling the kayak over a particular rough shallow section and my daughter dropped one of the paddles. It went down stream and we were with only 1 paddle at that point. We had fun and when we stopped an hour later we found some kids on the shore playing with my other ore. Overall had a great time. The kayak performed great only inhibited by the skill of the paddler. I did break another seat back adjustment buckle so this might be a weak point though. The next day I took it out again to a local calm lake and had a blast. Kids took turns rowing out to the middle of the lake and using it as a swim and jumping plat form.
