I bought this kayak for my son. No "Pros" or "Uses" because the kayak arrived WITHOUT A PADDLE. I contacted SA and their customer service people were great...........they just didn;t have the authority to send a paddle. They said the kayak comes without a paddle (although that is not state don the website). What good is a kayak WITHOUT A PADDLE??? It i like a car without a gas tank or a car without 4 wheels........USELESS. I think the fault is with LIFETIME....so the 1 star is for Lifetime and not SA.
This kayak is so awesome! I bought it for my 5 year old nephew and 8 year old niece and we took it out for a week in Dana Point Harbor. My nephew did amazing on it the first time out as did my niece. It is so easy to handle at only 6 feet long. I have a CR-V and it fit perfectly in there. Multiple people came up to us all week asking where we got it. The weight limit is 130 but together, my nephew and I are 180 so we pushed the limit a little and sunk down in the water a bit but we still managed to paddle around just fine. This kayak is a blast!!
Bought this one for my 10 year old, she and the 8 year old are able to handle this in the rivers in Missouri. It is so stable they like to stand and paddle down the rivers. You cant beat the price and durabiilty. It really is a great package for kids less than 100 lbs.
I never thought I'd see a Kayak made for kids that would actually work for a kid! My 6 year old took two minutes to figure out the paddles and then kayaked up and down the beach for hours without falling in (except on purpose). Very stable and unbelievably easy to use. It does take on water and needs to be drained occasionally, but not enough to really complain about. No kid with a beach-loving family should be without one!
