The boot is comfortable. The boot looks awesome. But unfortunately, they're made to break. It's unfortunate too because they have great grip and are a joy to wear. The defect is in Magnum's choice of material for the protruding lace loops: They're made of plastic. Within a few weeks I had simply bumped my foot into something and one of the pegs snapped right off. I hoped it was just a manufacture defect so I contacted Sports Authority to replace it. By the time my new boots had arrived, I had broken another peg by sitting cross legged, and two others who knows how. Within two months of wearing my second pair, I have 2 of 8 pegs left. I'm not out kicking concrete or hiking Halfdome here, I'm wearing them like a normal person. I use them while driving, changing my oil, walking, climbing ladders. A boot, especially a work or security boot, should not be breaking so easily. I decided not to bug Sports Authority again and just wrap the shoe laces around my ankle until the darn things wear out. Do not buy these unless you want to wear them for the opposite of their intended purpose; ya know, sitting and standing still.

This isn't a big deal but they're not quite as odor resistant as my last few pair of Bates boots, as I need to spray them with foot powder once a day rather than once ever two.
