    Overall, I really like this jacket, it's very warm in winter and it's pretty lightweight for being a heavy winter jacket. Columbia's omni-heat lining is very good and does keep you a lot warmer than other jackets. The water-proof shell is fantastic, the jacket was drenched on the outside, but I was completely dry on the inside. A big improvement over the "water-resistant" jackets, where you can sometimes feel the water seep through during heavy storms. The design of the Lhotse jacket is pretty basic, but the colors work well togehter and it's looks pretty stylish. The one thing I found odd were all of the zippers Columbia put on this jacket. I don't see the need for such large hand pockets and the underarm zippers seem odd, it just makes the jacket feel tight. The sizing is off, so make sure you go one size larger than you normally would, for instance, go with an XL, if you normally wear large. The Columbia Lthose jacket isn't perfect, but it's a very good jacket and I would recommend it.

    Good-looking jacket - marred by being not true-to-size. Others warn about it being too small -- it is. The problem is, if you try buying a size larger the arms become too long and the hood does, as well.

    Another problem is the interior removable layer makes the sleeves difficult to get off when removing the jacket. The internal connecting point for the sleeves is higher up from the cuffs. If you do not grab the interior liner through the cuff, getting it off like a normal jacket is difficult.

      The zippers for the pockets go all the way from the bottom of the jacket up to the shoulder. To put your hand in the pocket you have to unzip all the way down and then the jacket looks like an '80's pair of parachute pants. Get the Whirlibird II instead. Same jacket, normal pockets.

      The parka takes a week or two of wearing before it feels good on you. I was out in hard rain and wet snow putting on an air conditioner cover for 1/2 hour. The parka kept me dry, warm and the hood did great too.
