The Pros and Cons choices didn't show up this time for me to choose. Anyway, this barbell isn't built like the more expensive ones with roller bearings and precision fit. This is a low priced barbell only suitable for a couple hundred pounds and not rough handling. But, it is shorter than a 7' Olympic bar and cheap which makes it handy for home gyms in small spaces.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

The bar has a nice grip, and is best for lifting where space is limited. Unfortunately I was looking for a 45 lb bar, so this was not right. The price was right, shipping was timely.
