Comments about Izzo Swami 3000 Enhanced Golf GPS Unit:
I had been looking for a basic, no-frills unit that is easy to use. I didn't want to deal w/ computer hassles or downloads. All anyone really needs is quick, accurate distances to the green (I use the front and back distances more than the center). I find many of the other more "feature-rich" units only serve to slow the game down. Add in the fact that the Swami cost less than $100 and you've got great value here. I compared my unit to others on the course - works just as well. All the courses I play are preloaded - the unit automatically finds the course I'm on at start-up. Love the larger distance numbers - very easy to read - don't mind the toggle between front, center and back distances - to get the larger read-out (keeps my reading glasses in the bag). I will note that I did have a defective battery issue w/ my initial unit. Wouldn't hold a charge long enough - but simply called IZZO and they quickly replaced w/ no hassles. That's all I can ask for.

Mine and everybody else that I knw that has this runs into the same problem that it can't find a signal. It counts down from 100 in incraments of 1..5 seconds and most of the time it can't find a signal. I am a caddy and find it very frustrating. It was cheap and when it works I loved it. Luckily Sports Authority and their great service took it back. It is the product, not Sports Authority that is the problem.
