One of the best characteristics of this board are the catch free edges; you will not catch an edge unless you do so on purpose. Its wide base makes the board specifically contoured for powder riding, and also promotes speed. This board is also made specifically for those with larger feet. Being an individual with generally small feet I was remotely skeptical at first, but upon conclusion I determined that the board performed flawlessly. I used size 12 boots to compensate for the width of the board, which turned out to be the right decision. The board is designed for powder riding, hence the name "Floater". One minor issue is that it isnt very difficult to dent the topsheet, but as long as you are freeriding as you should with an all mountain board you shouldnt have any problems. The extruded base isnt as fast nor can it hold wax as good as a sintered base but it gets the job done, and its easier to repair. The Burton Floater truly floats on the snow, and I would recommend this board to all mountain freeriders, riders with larger feet, and those looking for a good quality board without paying top dollar.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
