    Takes a day or so for it to inflate the first time, but that's just because it's been rolled up and compressed for probably months until it gets to you. but once it inflates, it is a solid 2" thick and is very comfortable. Perfect for backpacking.

      I took this on a motorcycle trip. Next to the tent, it was the largest item, but it was worth the extra bungee cord it took to strap it down. I slept sooooo well. Until the birds woke me up at 5:30am. They eventually flew off and I had another couple of hours. The best part was that I could sleep on my side and not touch the ground. Yes, it could be smaller, but it shouldn't be an issue for car campers. A good night's sleep makes for a happier camper and a safer driver. Probably not ideal for backpackers, but it could work.
