The kickstand was just an extra option for the Tess 24 Diamondback bicycle I bought my granddaughter for her 12th birthday last week. The bike was her choice. A bicycle snob, I would have chosen something a lot lighter and maybe without the derailleurs -- or the kickstand. Rhiannon loves it just the way it is, though, and can't wait to take a ride with her grampa once the weather cools off a little.
I attempted to attach the supplied hardware to my son's 16" Giant bike.
A] The hardware does not even come close to working with this frame. I had to use a couple of washers to get it close to mounting on the frame.
B} After i got the kickstand installed, it was a poor fit in two ways. First it scrubbed rear tire no matter how I tried to adjust it. Then I figured that it would be worth it to see if I need to modify the supporting bracket by seeing how well it supported the little bike. It did not support the bike!!! The factory angle was so horrible, that the bike never leaned on the stand at all. It was perfectly vertical!
the kick stand keeps hitting off the pedal, have to really pull it over hard to aviod this as it slows down the wheel from turning ..i hope it lasts as it is kindof fragile like it can break easily? Will let you know what happens
Just found out that you need to buy kickstands separately. It does not come with the bike itself. This product itself is great. It fits perfectly with the bike and have not had any problems yet. It is sturdy and holds the bike well
